We are spiritual beings.  Without spiritual nourishment, we grow hungry in ways that nothing else can satisfy.  The truth is, we only really thrive when we are fed spiritually and when we are growing.  At the Mission Chattanooga, we do not approach this individualistically. We are committed to growing together.  In groups that meet all across Chattanooga, utilizing a range of different formats, we lean into shared rhythms of life together that cultivate spiritual growth.

Wherever you are in your journey, we desire to provide you with opportunities to experience relational connection, spiritual practices, rich teaching and challenging discussions, all of which are designed to foster spiritual growth.  We desire to serve you so that you will be equipped to go out and serve the world.

COMMUNITY GROW

You are invited to join us on Wednesday nights for Community Grow! During these community gatherings, we offer opportunities to learn and grow together including classes on Anglicanism; Mission Chattanooga outreach efforts; sessions with the Office of Truth, Lament, and Repair (a Mission ministry dedicated to healing from the legacy of American racism); selected Theology on Tap events; and special nights of worship and prayer. While Community Grow has been primarily designed for the community of the Mission Chattanooga, anyone is welcome to come! To view full details, CLICK HERE

MISSION COMMUNITIES

Mission Communities are what we call our small and mid-sized groups here at the Mission, and they take various forms. MCs are how we, as a church, continue to grow smaller even as we grow larger.  We believe that we were designed for healthy, authentic, growing relationships with one another and with God.  In moments of joy and difficulty, we are meant to experience life together. Though many Mission Communities meet weekly and often have components of discussion, prayer, and Bible study, others meet less frequency and are centered around an activity or prayer.  A Mission Community can be anything from a meal group, to a crafting club or a businessmen's accountability group.  There is a wide diversity of formats across our Mission Communities, but what holds true for all of them is that they are designed to be places that foster relational and spiritual growth. If you have questions about a group or if you are interested in helping to start a new Mission Community, please contact us. You are also welcome to fill out an INTEREST SURVEY

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School was established at the Mission Chattanooga in the Fall of 2017 to give our congregants a place to interact with our pastors and leaders and learn about a myriad of topics that might never find their way into a smaller group setting or a Sunday sermon.  In our short time, we have explored the problem of evil, looked at the life and thought of Dorothy Sayers, examined the topic of Spiritual Discernment through the eyes of Ignatius of Loyola, and much more. Sunday School at the Mission is an informal space you are invited to bring your questions and grow as disciples and friends. Please join us at 9:15 at 1815 McCallie Ave!  Sunday School takes place on most Sunday mornings throughout each month.  Please refer to the weekly Mission Minute email to confirm details.

MISSION KIDS

Mission Kids exists to provide children a loving, nurturing, safe, and age-appropriate environment in which children learn the importance of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Each Sunday our children learn how the stories of God and His people in the Bible relate to their own lives. Lessons are taught by a trained team of staff and volunteers who are deeply committed to serving our children in an engaging environment through story, liturgy, music, and art. Our goal is to partner with parents, family members, and the broader family of the Mission Chattanooga to help our children grow in their relationship with Jesus.

YOUTH MINISTRY

At the Mission Chattanooga, our Youth Ministry is dedicated to providing a place and community where our middle and high school students can be formed into mature believers and learn what it means to be a faithful follower of Jesus.  Our goal is to partner with parents in discipling students to equip them to reveal Christ to their family, friends, school, and neighborhood in Chattanooga, all to the glory of God. We exist to see gospel saturation in every student’s life so that they have a daily, personal encounter with Jesus through word and deed.

The Middle School Youth Group meets every Sunday night at the Mission Chattanooga (in the Camp House) at 6:30 (directly following the 5pm Evensong worship service).  For more information on ways to plug into the Middle School Ministry at the Mission,

email Chris and Erin Collins or use our Contact page.

The High School Youth Group meets every Sunday night at the Mission Chattanooga (in the Camp House) at 6:30 (directly following the 5pm Evensong worship service). COLLEGE MINISTRY

The Mission Chattanooga aims to reach, empower, and equip students as fully able ministers of the Gospel. The college years can be both wildly exciting and painfully difficult.  We walk through triumphs of self-discovery and pitfalls of fear, relational struggle, and confusion about the future. No one should have to walk through these things alone.  Thankfully God has given us the church as His family to journey with us through the joys and hardships of life. At the Mission we want everyone who calls this place home to be cared for.  And if you're a college student, we hope you find a home with The House, our University Chapel.

At The House, our staff and student leaders would love for you to be known and know Jesus.  So come join us and hundreds of college students right on the UTC campus for worship each Tuesday night during the school year at 8pm.  Or swing by our social space, called The Hub, which is open every school day, right on the campus as well. Or meet the students in our residence houses, come on a retreat, go on a mission trip, join a Bible study, or grab some free food at just about anything we do together.  We're located at 650 McCallie Avenue.  Come say hey to someone in leadership and let's discover how we come to a deeper knowledge and love of Jesus together while you are in college!
